ARTIST'S STATEMENT

My paintings reflect places, mainly.

But they reflect places which evoke mood, memories, and daydreams.

Through my paintings, my aim is to bring more of the outside world into our everyday awareness. So much of our time is spent hurriedly going through our to-do list items for the day. Because of our hurried rush through most days, it becomes very easy for many of us to "not see" the beauty of the world around us. My hope is that if people can stop for a moment or two, and enjoy the natural wonder of the world around them, then perhaps it helps to add a little more peace to one's day.

Over the years, I've really come to appreciate how certain images can evoke a lot of emotion for people. Many people have commented on my paintings, and how my work reminds them of a special place where they’ve been - or how my work reminds them of a unique place where they would like to visit someday.

Remarkably, those physical places, are often the same places that mirror journeys of the heart. Let us not forget those places in the heart that are most meaningful.
